Argentinian industrial activity declines in March

Argentinian industrial production in March dropped 0.4 percent, year-on-year, according to figures released by the nation’s statistics agency, Indec.
 
According to government data, industrial output in the local automotive segment in March fell 3.4 percent, year-on-year. On the other hand, industrial production at the local metal-mechanic industry rose 4.9 percent in March, year-on-year.
 
According to a Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the nation’s industrial companies for Q2, on a year-on-year basis, 44.4 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand. However, another 45.2 percent foresee an increase in demand, while 10.4 percent expect a decrease.
 
Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 51.9 percent expect a stable Q2 for exports on a year-on-year analysis. However, 33.1 percent expect an increase and 15 percent anticipate a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
