Argentinian crude steel production in November declined 12.2 percent, year-on-year, and 13.6 percent, month-on-month, to 404,900 mt, according to latest data released this week by the nation’s steel chamber, CAA.
According to CAA, crude steel production in the accumulated period of January to November totaled 4.6 million mt, 7.7 percent down, year-on-year.
Argentina’s hot rolled finished steel output in November decreased 6.5 percent, year-on-year, and 3.4 percent, month-on-month, to 398,200 mt, while cold rolled flat steel production in the same period reached 113,200 mt. The volume is 6.5 percent higher when compared to October’s cold rolled flat steel output, but 15.3 percent lower in the year-on-year analysis.
CAA noted the excess of steel output in China, along with the fall of activity in the oil industry and the recession in Brazil still represent a threat to the nation’s industrial activity.
