Argentina’s crude steel production declines in December

Argentinian crude steel production in December declined 15.9 percent, year-on-year, and 13 percent, month-on-month, to 312,600 mt, the country’s steel association, Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA), said on Wednesday.
 
According to CAA, the country’s crude steel output for the whole year was 4.1 million mt, 17.9 percent down, year-on-year.
 
Argentinian hot rolled finished steel production in December was 310,100 mt, 16.7 percent down, year-on-year, and 12 percent down, month-on-month.
 
As for the accumulated period of January to December, the country’s total hot rolled finished steel production fell 15.7 percent, year-on-year, to 3.8 million mt, CAA said.
 
The country’s cold rolled flat steel output in December was 113,700 mt, 9.3 percent down, year-on-year, but 0.9 percent up, month-on-month.
 
As for the full year of 2016, cold rolled flat steel production diminished 3.9 percent, year-on-year, to 1.3 million mt.
