Argentina’s crude steel output up 5.5 percent in Q1

According to the data released by Argentina's chamber of steel, in March this year Argentina's crude steel output amounted to 496,700 metric tons, rising by 10.4 percent as compared to the previous month and up 5.4 percent year on year. In the first quarter of this year, Argentina's crude steel production totaled 1.3 million metric tons, increasing by 5.5 percent year on year.

In the first three months of this year, Argentina's total hot rolled steel product amounted to 1.15 million metric tons, with a 10.1 percent year-on-year decrease, including output of 563,700 metric tons of hot rolled flat steel products - down 19.3 percent year on year, and 584,300 metric tons of long steel products, increasing by 1.1 percent compared to the first quarter of last year.

The country's cold rolled flat steel product output in the first quarter this year amounted to 328,100 metric tons, down 8.3 percent as compared to the same quarter of last year.
