Argentinian crude steel output in March rose 23.5 percent, year-on-year, and 28.6 percent, month-on-month, to 392,300 mt, the country’s steel association, Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA) said on Wednesday.
According to CAA, local crude steel production in Q1 totaled 988,700 mt, 0.3 percent up, year-on-year.
Argentina’s hot rolled finished steel production in March improved 6.3 percent, year-on-year, and 33.3 percent, month-on-month, to 397,000 mt, CAA said.
As for the first three months of 2017, the country’s hot rolled finished steel output grew 5.8 percent, year-on-year, to 1 million mt.
CAA said cold rolled flat steel output in the third month of the year was 104,000 mt, 17 percent down, year-on-year, but 16.3 percent up month-on-month.
As for Q1, cold rolled flat steel production dropped 15.9 percent, year-on-year, to 305,100 mt, CAA said.
