Argentinian crude steel output in February declined 9.9 percent, year-on-year, but rose 4.7 percent, month-on-month, to 305,100 mt, the country’s steel association, Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA), said on Monday.
According to CAA, the country’s crude steel output for the first two months of 2017 totaled 596,400 mt, 10.8 percent down, year-on-year.
The country’s hot rolled finished steel production in February was 297,900 mt, 25.8 percent up, year-on-year, but 4.9 percent down, month-on-month.
As for the accumulated period of January to February, Argentina’s hot rolled finished steel production grew 5.5 percent, year-on-year, to 611,200 mt.
Cold rolled flat steel output in February was 89,400 mt, 22.4 percent down, year-on-year, and also 20 percent down on a month-on-month basis.
As for the January-February period, cold rolled flat steel production diminished 15.3 percent, year-on-year, to 201,100 mt.
