Argentina’s crude steel output down, hot rolled product output up in July

According to the data released by Argentina's chamber of steel, in July this year Argentina's crude steel output amounted to 344,000 metric tons, falling to its lowest level in the latest 12 months, down by 23.7 percent as compared to the previous month and by 29.9 percent year on year. In the first seven months of this year, Argentina's crude steel production totaled 3.08 million metric tons, decreasing four percent year on year.

Meanwhile in July, Argentina's total hot rolled steel product output reached its highest monthly level in 2012 amounting to 499,500 metric tons, up by 8.9 percent month on month and by 1.8 percent compared to July 2011. Of this total,  the hot rolled flat steel product output was 244,100 metric tons, up 3.8 percent month on month, while the long steel product output totaled 255,500 metric tons, increasing by 14.2 percent compared to June this year.

The country's cold rolled flat steel product output in July fell by 5.2 percent month on month to 130,600 metric tons, down 3.3 percent as compared to July last year.
