Argentina’s crude steel output down 7.5% in Jan-Sept

According to the data released by Argentina's chamber of steel, in September this year Argentina's crude steel output amounted to 396,100 metric tons, rising 4.3 percent as compared to the previous month but down 16.2 percent year on year. In the first nine months of this year, Argentina's crude steel production totaled 3.85 million metric tons, decreasing 7.5 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in September Argentina's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 401,200 metric tons, up slightly by 0.2 percent month on month and down 9.5 percent compared to September 2011. Of this total, the hot rolled flat steel product output was 192,800 metric tons, up 13.8 percent month on month, while the long steel product output totaled 208,300 metric tons, decreasing by 9.9 percent compared to August this year.

The country's cold rolled flat steel product output in September fell by 19.7 percent month on month to 98,700 metric tons, up 3.6 percent as compared to September last year.
