Steelmaker ArcelorMittal expects to transport 4,500 mt of steel bars from the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul to clients in Bolivia, as a local port has resumed operations.

According to a Mato Grosso do Sul state news agency, the Murtinho port will transport the material from the city of same name in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul to Puerto Quijarro in Bolivia.

The first shipment of the product, which came from ArcelorMittal’s mill in the city of Piracicaba in the state of Sao Paulo, was delivered in July and a new cargo with 30 trucks is currently being loaded to supply the local port.

The material should be transported by river until the border between Corumba and Quijarro in Bolivia and should then be transported by a railway until it reaches its final destination.
