ArcelorMittal Temirtau to invest $150 million in modernization projects

ArcelorMittal Temirtau, the largest metallurgical enterprise in Kazakhstan, has announced that it will invest $150 million in several investment projects at its steel department to improve its efficiency, to improve the quality of finished products and to ensure safer working conditions for employees.

Accordingly, ArcelorMittal Temirtau will construct a new air separation unit which will ensure long-term stable supply of oxygen to the main production facilities of the company. The company will also modernize the equipment of its hot rolling shop and will install a new ladle furnace No. 3 and new hydrogen electrolysers. The company stated that the installation of the ladle furnace No. 3 in its oxygen converter will contribute to increasing the productivity of this unit and the project to replace hydrogen electrolyzers with new ones will improve the efficiency of gas reservoirs.
