ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih reconstructs blast furnace No. 6

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal, has stated that it is investing $132 million in the reconstruction of its blast furnace No. 6 with the implementation of environmental safety measures. In addition, a number of ecological projects will be performed: construction of a gas treatment unit at the foundry shop, a gas treatment unit reconstruction at an under-bunker facility, and implementation of an automated environmental monitoring system. Implementation of this investment project will enable reduction of hazardous emissions into the atmosphere by 7,000 mt per year and also will help ensure stable operation of equipment and will maintain the balance of iron output in accordance with ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih's performance strategy for the coming years.
