ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, Ukraine-based subsidiary of the world's largest integrated metals and mining company ArcelorMittal, has announced that its deformed reinforcing steel bars have been named as ‘Best domestic product 2010', after scoring high points in all the criteria considered, namely, high product quality, sales both in the domestic and foreign markets, positive feedback from customers, and others.
The ‘Best domestic product 2010' contest was conducted during the industrial exhibition entitled ‘Bright Ukraine' held in Kiev on August 17-19.
ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih's steel bars are used in the construction of multi-floor buildings and of technically advanced objects, such as the Palm islands in Dubai, new stadiums in Kiev and Lvov that are currently being built for the Euro 2012 football competition, the new airport in Lvov and a new terminal at the Boryspil international airport in Kiev.
ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih accounts for nearly 20 percent of metal production in Ukraine, and in 2009 produced 60 percent of the country's reinforcing steel bars.
