Henan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Anyang Iron and Steel Co. (Anyang Steel) has announced that in the first half of the current year it achieved an operating revenue of RMB 13.759 billion ($2.234 billion), up 13.52 percent year on year. In addition, in the given period Anyang Steel recorded a net profit of RMB 47.2554 million ($7.67 million), with earnings per share of RMB 0.02, compared to a net loss of RMB 599 million in the same period last year. The company said that the increase in its operating revenue in the first half of the year was mainly due to the more rapid rise in revenues from finished steel sales compared to growth of costs.
