Ansteel completes heavy rail supplies for Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway

Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Anshan Iron and Steel Group Co. (Ansteel) has announced that it has completed supplies of U71Mn (K) 60kg/m high-speed heavy rails for the Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway project, supplying a total of 163,000 mt since 2009. The rails in question allow trains to travel at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour. Construction work on the railway project commenced on August 23, 2007, while trial train journeys began on Monday, October 8 this year.
 
According to Ansteel, the heavy rails it supplied accounted for 75.5 percent of total heavy rails supplied for the railway project. Ansteel first produced high-speed heavy rails for passenger trains with speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour in 2005.
