ANSC changes some product prices for January 2007

SteelOrbis Shanghai Anshan New Steel Corporation (ANSC) announced its January 2007 ex-factory prices on December 5, 2006. The details are as follows: 1. Hot rolled sheet and coil The prices of structural steel coils with smaller than 1,000 mm width increased RMB 300/mt ($38), while the price of those narrower than 1,500 mm but wider than 1,000 mm increased RMB 200/mt ($26). The price of commercial quality hot rolled coils narrower than 1,200 mm increased RMB 150/mt ($19). Thus, the new price of Q235 grade 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm hot rolled coil is RMB 3,270/mt ($418). The surcharge for checkered coil increased from RMB 100/mt ($13) to RMB 200/mt ($26). The price of anti-corrosive structural steel and HQ460 grade machine steel increased RMB 200/mt ($26). The prices of 380L, A320L, A420L, A550L, 500L, and A610L coils used in the automotive industry increased RMB 200/mt ($26), while the prices of LQ330, LQ380, LQ380G, LQ410 and LQ450 increased RMB 100/mt ($13). 2. Plate The price of common carbon medium plate increased RMB 100/mt ($13). As a result, the ex-factory price of Q235 grade 20 mm thick medium plate is now RMB 3,170/mt ($405). The price of ACR950 grade thick plate increased RMB 1000/mt ($128). 3. Wire rod A surcharge increase of RMB 100/mt ($13) has been imposed on SAE1006 common carbon wire rod, based on the price of SAE1008 common carbon wire rod. The prices of SWRH62A and SWRH62B quality carbon wire rod increased RMB 30/mt ($4), while that of SWRH82A quality carbon wire rod increased RMB 60/mt ($8).Meanwhile, the price of SWRH77B quality carbon wire rod increased RMB 20/mt ($3). 4. Seamless pipe The prices of both <180 mm diameter seamless pipe, oil pipe and line pipe decreased RMB 100/mt ($13). The prices of other products remained unchanged. 17 percent value-added tax is not included in the prices given above.
