Another week of severe drops plague US and Canadian rig counts

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 13 the US rig count decreased by 67 to 1,125 after a 75-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count decreased by 11 to 257, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 56 to 866. The overall rig count is down by 684from 1,809 rigs during the same week a year ago.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 80 in the week ending March 13 to reach 220 after a 30-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is down by 302 from 522 rigs during the same week a year ago.
