Anglo’s Minas-Rio iron ore output up 24 percent in Q2

Iron ore output at Anglo’s Minas-Rio mine in Brazil rose 24 percent in Q2, year-on-year, the company said on Thursday.

According to Anglo, iron ore production at its Minas-Rio mine in Brazil reached 4.3 million, up from 3.5 million mt in Q2 2016.

So far, in H1, the Minas-Rio mine produced 8.7 million mt of the commodity, 27 percent up, year-on-year, Anglo said.

“The focus remains on obtaining the Step 3 licenses required for the operation to access the full range of run-of-mine grades and target the operation's nameplate capacity of 26.5 million mt,” the company said.
