Angang hikes prices

SteelOrbis Shanghai Anshan Steel Company (Angang) adjusted its ex-factory prices for August deliveries on July 4, 2006. The company increased most of its prices compared to its last announcement dated June 8. Regarding the flat products, the company increased its cold rolled sheet price by RMB 50/mt ($6), and the price of 1.0 mm thick ST12 cold rolled sheet reached RMB 4,630/mt ($579), while that of 3.0 mm thick ST12 cold rolled sheet reached RMB 4,570/mt ($572). The price of galvanized coils increased RMB 100/mt ($13). After the adjustment, the price of 0.5 mm ST01Z galvanized coils became RMB 5,490/mt ($687), and that of 1.0 mm ST01Z galvanized coils became RMB 4,860/mt ($608). The price of >0.4 mm thick color coated coils increased RMB 100/mt ($13), and that of <0.4 mm thick color coated coils increased RMB 300/mt ($38). After the adjustment, the ex-factory price of 0.45 mm TST01 color coated coils became RMB 6,200/mt ($776). Medium plate prices increased RMB 100/mt ($13). Now, 20 mm Q235 medium plate price is RMB 3,800/mt ($476). The base price of silicon steel increased RMB 50/mt ($6). After the adjustment, the new price of 50AW800 is RMB 4,500/mt ($563), and that of 50AW1000 is RMB 4,500/mt ($557). Hot rolled sheet and coil prices remained unchanged, and 5.5 mm Q235 hot rolled coil price is RMB 3,700/mt ($463). The company has also increased its seamless steel pipe prices by RMB 200/mt ($25).
