Alloy steel prices may increase in India

The Indian Alloy Steel Producers Association (ASAP) indicates that alloy steel prices may increase in the near future due to strong demand. Alloy steel posted a growth rate of over 10 percent, from 1.88 million tons to 2.12 million tons, during the period 2004-2005. Alloy steels are mainly used in the automotive and general engineering sectors. Accordingly, the demand for durable goods such as cars, refrigerators, washing machines is expected to climb from October onward.
