Alchevsk to increase steel product output in May

Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has announced that in the current month of May it plans to increase its crude steel production by 20-21 percent compared to April to 400,000 mt and to raise its production of steel products by 21-22 percent month on month to around 370,000 mt, including 200,000 mt of slabs and around 105,000 mt of flat steel products.

In January-April this year, Alchevsk produced 1.4 million mt of crude steel, up 14 percent compared to the same period of 2012, and 1.3 million mt of steel products, up 16 percent year on year.
