Alchevsk sees decline in January production

Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has announced that in January this year it produced 347,000 mt of finished steel products, down 5.4 percent, 380,000 mt of crude steel, down 4.7 percent, and 350,000 mt of pig iron, down 8.6 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
 
In February this year, the company plans to produce 345,000 mt of crude steel and 310,000 mt of pig iron, requiring 59,000 mt of steel scrap purchase.
