AK Steel reaches agreement with UAW

According to the statement released by Middletown based steel mill AK Steel, the company and the United Auto Workers (UAW) have reached a three-year labor agreement covering 160 workers at Rockport Works. It is stated that the agreement is the first labor agreement at Rockport Works. UAW also represents 1'500 workers at AK Steel's Butler Works. The agreement is effective as of June 14, 2004. Rockport facility finishes flat rolled carbon and stainless steel for automotive and appliances.
