AK Steel blast furnace shut down again

According to local reports, AK Steel’s blast furnace in Ashland, Kentucky shut down Wednesday, marking the second idle of the year.

AK Steel recently experienced an unplanned stoppage at its Ashland Works (KY) blast furnace,” AK Steel spokesman Mike Wallner to local news. “The company is working to remedy the situation and minimize any potential impact on its customers.”
