AK makes final offers to AEIF

At a 90-minute meeting Wednesday afternoon between AK Steel Corp. and negotiators from the Armco Employees Independent Federation (AEIF), the company presented six more final offers on its 29 contractual issues regarding a proposed labor agreement that would end the Middletown lockout. The company has now presented final offers on 13 articles. AK and the union have reached tentative agreements on a total of eight of the 29 articles. The last time negotiators from both sides met was at a 90-minute session June 13, during which four tentative article agreements were reached. In other AK news, the company plans to release its second quarter earnings at 8:30 a.m. July 25.
