Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) began this week the testing phase of the equipment for its Plant Force (PF7), the final stage before starting electricity-generating operations.

Developed under a "turnkey" contract with an investment of US$31.8 million, the PF7 is a step in the company’s goal of generating electricity; a crucial necessity given the increased demand generated by new units within the Phoenix Project.

In one hectare located west of the substation 2 AHMSA, the PF7 is  comprised of 10 generators with internal combustion using natural gas as fuel to generate 40 megawatts that will be integrated into AHMSA’s internal network.
