Through a subsidary of Minera del Norte, Mexican steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) hired TÜV Rheinland of Mexico to certify the proper operation of methane gas destruction systems in units operating on three sites in the coal region, according to the company’s  policies for environmental improvement.

AHMSA reported that the specialists at TÜV Rheinland of Mexico must validate that the systems burning methane gas are within the provisions of the project recorded last October at the United Nations.
