168 percent rise in coke import volume via Caofeidian in H1

According to the statistics released by the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of China's Hebei Province, in the first half of the current year imports of metallurgical coke via the port of Caofeidian in Hebei totaled 1,894,500 mt, up 167.89 percent, while the value of these, coke imports amounted to $363 million, up 135.71 percent, both year on year.

According to the Chinese customs authorities, in the first half of the current year China imported 140 million mt of coke, up 66 percent year on year. However, in both the first half of the year and in June alone, coke export volumes from China declined by over 33 percent year on year.
