Turkey’s rebar exports up 3.13 percent in January-March
In March this year, Turkey’s rebar exports amounted to 724,955 metric tons, increasing by 8.9 percent year on year and down 10.1 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $328.7 million, decreasing by 12.1 percent compared to March 2014 and down 14.7 percent from the previous month.
In the January-March period, Turkey’s rebar exports increased by 3.13 percent year on year to 2.04 million mt, while the value of these exports stood at $966.1 million, down 14.5 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of 2014.
In the January-March period of the current year, Turkey’s largest rebar export destination was the UAE which received 406,230 metric tons, up 92 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by the US with 370,171 metric tons, up 128.32 percent, and Iraq with 199,565 metric tons, down 30.98 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
